The Offer Process is the electronic version of an age old concept, the barter system. This is how it works: As a seller, you display your items for sale; buyers browse through the online products and make offers on the products they are interested in. As the Seller, you can then accept, decline, or counter the offer. For instance:
| |
You are selling a CD Player in your online store for $6.00, but you are also accepting offers on it. |
| |
A customer is interested in the CD Player and selects the "Make an Offer" button. |
| |
The customer decides how much he is willing to offer for it; he inputs: $4.80. |
| |
As a Seller, once you log in to your Administrative Panel, you have the ability to Accept, Decline, or Counter the received Offer.
| |
Accept: the customer will then be able to purchase the product for the agreed upon price of $4.80. |
| |
Decline: the customer's offer will no longer be valid. |
| |
Counter: You are not satisfied with the offer, but you are willing to negotiate. You input a higher price for which you want to sell the CD Player. Ex: Inputting $5.00 would mean that you would be willing to sell the CD Player for $5.00. |
|
| |
If the seller counters the customer's offer, the customer then has the ability to accept/decline/counter the seller's offer. |
| |
The negotiation continues until the customer and the seller agree on a price or one of them declines the other's offer. |
Note: We realize that not all items are negotiable; this is why Mettrade does NOT require Sellers to accept offers on their products.
You can always turn offers on or off for any of the products in your store simply by clicking a button!
A Merchant account is required for accepting credit card payments directly online. If your business already accepts credit cards, you may be able to use your existing services.
If you have a paypal seller account, you can accept payments through paypal. Just enable your paypal account through the seller admin section by inserting your paypal id and setting your paypal account to active.
Note: Mettrade's automatic merchant account integration supports PayPal, LinkPoint and Authorize.net .
We strongly recommend the use of PayPal for online transactions. PayPal has emerged as the most successful new payment service provider on the Internet. Growing at a rate of 18,000 new accounts per day atop a base of 10 million registered users, PayPal , more than any other service, is shaping how the online community thinks about consumer payments and we implement it as one of our payment options to better serve the changing ecommerce needs. If a PayPal account can not be obtained for whatever reason, you may also use Authorize.net or Linkpoint to collect payment from buyers.
CardServices International and Authorize.net are both market leaders with solid Internet payment systems in place; we highly recommend them for directly accepting credit cards online.
With your store, you will also have the ability to accept Checks, Money Orders, and COD!
Met Trade only charges fees based on the member level.
