How do I change/update my account information? You can update Your Administrative Panel information (address, e-mail, credit card, etc.) at any time by accessing Your Administrative Panel on the main navigation bar. You will need to be logged into Met Trade Shopping Cart when you access this page.
Will Met Trade Shopping Cart sell my personal information to advertisers, "spam lists," etc.? No, users' e-mail and postal addresses will only be given out to other users once a successful negotiation has been made. All other contact between the Buyer and Seller will be made through the negotiation process screen.
Can I have more than one account? In order to preserve the integrity of the Met Trade Shopping Cart community, you can only have one account.
What happens if I forget my User Name? If you have registered, and cannot remember the user name you registered under, you may Contact Us and a Customer Support representative will assist you. Please provide your First and Last Name and the email account you registered under, and we can determine the User Name you registered with.
What if I forget my password? If you forget your password, we will be happy to send it to you. Simply enter your User Name in our Password Request Page , and you will receive your password in the e-mail account specified in Your Administrative Panel information.
Do you revoke user accounts? Please see the Violations section within the Terms of Service for complete information.
Can I rejoin Met Trade Shopping Cart if my account is revoked? No. Please see our Terms of Service for complete information.
 

Credit Cards/Payments/Fees

Is my credit card information secure? We have three levels of security for handling credit card information. Our first level is on our system. Our system is constantly monitored for security issues, and access to this system is limited even within our own organization. Our second level is on our database. When your credit card information is entered into our system, it is encrypted. It ends up looking like a "scrambled mess" to anyone viewing it. The "key" to unscrambling is stored separately, so even if our database was accessed, the person would not be able to do anything with it. Our third level is SSL (Secure Socket Layer) using Thawte. We use 128-bit encryption to ensure that your data is secure when being passed to and from our system.
Do I have to pay to use Met Trade Shopping Cart? Anyone who browses Met Trade Shopping Cart's site can view stores and item product listings without charge. In order for an individual to buy or sell an item, the individual must register to become a user on Met Trade Shopping Cart. The Seller pays a transaction fee to Met Trade Shopping Cart when an item is sold, based on the final price of the item. Buyers are in contract to pay the Sellers in agreement with the negotiation details. For more information, please refer to our Pricing Structure .
How do I pay for an item? Do I have to use a credit card? When a user lists an item for sale, they are required to define the methods of payment they will accept from Buyers. These methods of payment appear within the item product listing. They may or may not require a credit card.
What does it cost to list  items in my store? Listing an item is FREE. Please refer to our Pricing Structure for complete details.
How do I pay Met Trade Shopping Cart the fees I owe? When you list an item for sale on Met Trade Shopping Cart, you are required to submit a credit card number. Any transaction fees that you incur are charged to your credit card account.
Do I have to have a credit card to buy things on Met Trade Shopping Cart? To sell? As a Buyer, it depends on what payment methods the Seller will accept. Options for method of payment include: Check, Money Order, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, PayPal, Yahoo PayDirect, and BidPay. You are not required to submit a credit or debit card number in order to buy something on Met Trade Shopping Cart, but the Seller may require it as method of payment. As a Seller, you are required to submit a credit or debit card number to ensure payment to Met Trade Shopping Cart. Met Trade Shopping Cart accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.
What if I do not have a credit card? Currently, we require a valid credit card to be used in order to list an item for sale. We are working on alternative payment methods, and will make an announcement when other methods are available for Sellers to use to submit transaction fees.
Can I change my credit card information once I have registered? Yes. Once you are logged into the site, click on Your Administrative Panel on the top navigation bar. Under Account Information, you will see a link that says "Edit Credit Card Information." Clicking on that link will take you to the screen where you may update your credit card information.
When is my credit card charged?
Transaction Fees are charged to your credit card once a month, usually during the first week of the month. Refunds and credits are also applied at this time, if applicable.

Item product listings

What kinds of items are prohibited from being listed on Met Trade Shopping Cart? Please review the product listing Restrictions within our Posting Policy for complete details. For further information regarding posting procedures and restrictions, see our Terms of Service .
If I see an item on Met Trade Shopping Cart that may be illegal or prohibited, who do I contact? If you see an item on the site that may be illegal or prohibited, please Contact Us immediately so we can address the situation. We count on our user community to maintain the honesty and integrity of the site and appreciate your help.
Can I add HTML in my product listing description? Met Trade Shopping Cart offers several custom layouts for your product product listings. Met Trade Shopping Cart does not allow the use of hyperlinks within your product listing or images.
How do I add images to my product listings in my Met Trade Shopping Cart store? Met Trade Shopping Cart offers you the ability to include images in your product listing by uploading them directly to our system. When you submit your product listing, that image is uploaded and stored in our system , and it will appear in your product listing.
How do I remove an item I have posted for sale? Please login to your Administrative Panel for in depth information regarding adding/editing/removing products from your Met Trade Shopping Cart store.
Can I edit a product listing after I have posted it? Can I add images to a product listing once it is posted? Yes.
How long is a product listing displayed before it expires? Never. Products remain in your Met Trade Shopping Cart store until you manually add/edit/delete them.

Negotiating

How does the negotiation process work? Once a registered user has made an offer on an available item, the Buyer and Seller enter into a negotiating session and will deal exclusively with each other until either an agreement has been reached or one party walks away. Each negotiating round consists of an action by the potential Buyer and the Seller. Users "Make an Offer," "Counter Offer," "Accept an Offer," or "Discard Your Request" from the negotiation.
What happens when the negotiation is complete? Once an offer has been accepted, the Buyer and Seller will receive an e-mail informing them that the offer has been accepted, the final price, and the other participant's e-mail and postal address.
Is Met Trade Shopping Cart responsible for my transaction(s)? No. Once a sale is made, it is between the Buyer and the Seller to complete.
Where can I see all of the items I am selling or buying? Please login to your Administrative Panel.
What is the timeframe for negotiating? How long do I have to complete a round or the transaction? Although there is no specified time for completing rounds, it is good practice to be as timely and efficient as possible when negotiating. Keep in mind that if you are taking too long to complete your round, the other user may Discard his request from the negotiation.
How do I receive notifications and electronic mailings from the other user in the negotiation? All contact made between the Buyer and Seller is made through the negotiation process screen. The users' e-mail addresses are concealed until a negotiation is final, at that point the Buyer and Seller will receive an e-mail informing them that the offer has been accepted, the final price, and the other participant's e-mail address and shipping address.
What do you do if a buyer doesn't send payment for the item they purchased from me? If a Buyer has agreed to purchase an item and does not pay, you may Contact Us using the subject "Contact Buyer" and we will work with both parties to resolve the issue. Please note the following before contacting customer support:
  • Only one item per request.
  • Requests are only taken if no response has been received from the Buyer within 7 days of Sold Date.
  • Please note, it is the Seller's responsibility to make initial contact with the Buyer. Before contacting customer support, make sure you have made an attempt to contact the Buyer via email.
  • When contacting Customer Support, please provide the following information: the Reason for Request, the Date of Request, the Seller User Name, the Item #, the Buyer User Name, the Sold Date, and the Final Price.
Note: Final Values fees are not charged if a buyer has not paid for the item. Met Trade Shopping Cart is a 100% risk-free site!
Where do I file complaints against users? If you have a complaint against a user on Met Trade Shopping Cart, please Contact Us and we will address the situation.

Site Functionality

How do I find items to buy? There are several ways you can find items on Met Trade Shopping Cart. If you have a specific item in mind, you can enter it in the Quick Search field in the top navigation and then click Find It , or, if you want to perform a more comprehensive search, you can go to our Advanced Search by clicking the Search button on the main navigation bar. If you are just browsing or shopping for certain types of items (or simply want to see what's out there for sale) click on the Browse button on the main navigation bar and you may browse for items you may be interested in.
What is a cookie? A cookie is a text file that stores a message given to a Web browser by a Web server. The message is then sent back to the server each time the browser requests a page from the server. The main purpose of cookies is to identify users and possibly prepare customized Web pages for them. It is ultimately the Seller's discretion to determine the asking price for the item.
